The STRATEGUS and GLACIER teams were invited to present the GLACIER platform at an official Lingua Franca Technical Meeting.
GLACIER is an open-source framework for designing, simulating, and validating modern manufacturing systems. A central part of the framework is Frost, a simulation environment built on Lingua Franca that uses deterministic coordination to combine manufacturing components, communication infrastructures, control software, and continuous-time machine models.
The presentation introduced the motivation behind GLACIER, its architecture, the Frost simulation platform, and current applications including production scheduling, data-driven simulation, ODE-based machine models, and digital-twin development.
The invitation provided valuable early feedback from the Lingua Franca community and opened new opportunities for collaborations extending beyond the STRATEGUS project.
